Hello! To find out how far Nikki walked compared to Chico, we can multiply the fractions. To multiply fractions, multiply top numbers by the top and the bottom numbers by the bottom. 3/5 * 1/4 is 3/20. There. Nikki walked 3/20 mile to the library.

Please help me with this
Alex17521 [72]
Answer: 3
Step by step explanation: If there are 60 kids and 25% of them went to Floridia, then 1/4 of them went to Floridia, which is 15 (Bc 60/4=15). If 20% of them went to NY, then that’s 1/5 if the the kids, which is 12 (Bc 60/5=12). Finally, you just subtract 15 from 12 and get 3. Hope that helps!

Time taken by a randomly selected applicant for a mortgage to fill out a certain form has a normal distribution with mean value
Natali [406]

Given:

z = (x - μ)/σ = z value
x = independent variable = 11
μ = mean = 8
σ = standard deviation = 3

Solution:

X ~ N (8, 3)

For day 1, n = 5

P (X < = 11) = P (Z < = 11 – 8 / 3/Sqrt5) = P (Z < =2.23) = 0.987126

For day 1, n = 6

P (X < = 11) = P (Z < = 11 – 8 / 3/sqrt6) = P (Z < =2.45) = 0.992857

For both days:

P (X <= 11) = P (X <= 11) = (0.987126) (0.992857) = 0.9801

Can somebody help me find the zeroes for this, algebraically?
Natalija [7]
To solve this algebraically, you can first factor out a 3:
3(x^2-2x-8)

Then, you can factor (I'm using guess and check) and my answer is -4 and 2:3(x-4)(x+2)

From here on, finding 0s is very easy. You just solve for x in the parentheses. So, the 0s are when x = 4, and x = -2. Remember, (4-4) = 0, and (-2+2) = 0, that's what you want.
