History

Answer:

Mystery religion, any of various secret cults of the Greco-Roman world that offered to individuals religious experiences not provided by the official public religions. They originated in tribal ceremonies that were performed by primitive peoples in many parts of the world.

Explanation, the word mystery is derived from the Greek verb mien (“to close”), referring to the lips and the eyes.

History

Dionysiac

In every Greek city the god Dionysus was worshipped by fraternities and sororities and also by mixed communities. Dionysus was a god of fruitfulness and vegetation but especially of wine. The Dionysiac festivals provided an opportunity for stepping outside of the daily routine. The festivals included not only drinking wine and engaging in sexual activity but also participating in such significant features of Greek civilization as choral singing and mimes. In many cases, only the initiated could participate in the ceremonies. As almost every Greek did join in, initiation into the Dionysiac cult might be compared to tribal initiations. It seems that initiation into the Dionysiac Mysteries was accompanied by initiation into sexual life.

50 POINTS HELP ASAP BRAINLIEST
Aneli [31]

1. It depends on the issue at hand. It is likely going to be in federal district court as Federal District Courts are most often the court of original jurisdiction. A is likely the right answer.

2. Both are appellate courts, so D is correct. The Supreme Court and the Appellate Courts are both, most of the time, sitting in a review capacity. SO, they are reviewing the lower court's ruling for errors.

3. A, C, D.

The Supreme Court is the only entity that can issue a writ of cert allowing a case to be heard by the Supreme Court. Appellate Courts can decide that the lower courts were right (A) or wrong (C) and can send the case back down for more information (D).

4. B

A is incorrect as appellate courts do not hear new facts. A prudent attorney will get all factual matters into the "record" for consideration on appeal. This is one of the key uses of objections.

B is correct as a case will often be put on appeal if a lawyer or client feels that the course was not heard "correctly"

C is incorrect as magistrate judges do not hear cases on appeal

D is incorrect as new evidence is not introduced or reintroduced into the record.

5. C is correct as the President nominates Judges and the Senate provides advise and consent. The majority vote rule is new as of the last decade.

6. B and D are correct

7. A is correct. The Supreme Court is the highest appeals court in the land and their job is to hear and rule on cases.

8. C is the correct answer

9. B is the correct answer. Marbury v. Madison established judicial review.

10. D is the correct answer. Brown v. Board set in motion the desegregation of America's schools.

11. B. The Supreme Court can find a law unconstitutional, ending its application and enforceability

12. C is correct. The Supreme Court hears cases on appeal and issues a writ of cert

13. A is correct. Stare Decisis means letting the decision stand in latin and refers to the principle of following legal precedent.

Serga [27]

Answer:

The area called the Fertile Crescent was home to early civilization. All of the following contributed to the rich and fertile soil in the region except  the Zagros and Taurus mountains, which protected the area from undesirable and harsh weather.

Explanation:

The Fertile Crescent is a place where thousands of years ago there were suitable conditions for the birth of civilization. It was an area very suitable for agriculture. Its territory extends from the African Nile in the west, through Cyprus, through the Mesopotamian lowlands and further along the Euphrates and Tigris rivers to the southeast to the Persian Gulf, to the foot of the Iranian highlands.

The area was suitable for agriculture as it was characterized by limited but regular rainfall. The Fertile Crescent is, or was, in reality not a particularly fertile region. However, it was a good place for the emergence of agriculture because there are many plant species suitable for domestication. Precisely because there was a relatively dry climate, there were very many types of grass present from which different types of grain could be domesticated.
