Cuts Your Heart Disease Risk. Some researchers think cheese might explain the so-called French Paradox—that French people have low rates of heart disease despite their affinity for cheese and other saturated fat–rich foods, such as butter and duck.

Fends Off Diabetes. Eating 1 3/4 ounces of cheese a day may lower your risk of developing type 2 diabetes by 8 percent, says an analysis of cohort studies in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.

Helps You Dodge Death. OK, that's extreme. But eating cheese really may help you live longer, per a 2016 study in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition, which followed 960 French men for almost 15 years to see whether the foods they ate had any relationship to when they died.

1. Why did sugar thrive in the West Indies but not in the mainland English colonies?
g100num [7]

The environment was better in the West Indies than in the English mainland colonies.

Sugar cane requires a hot tropical climate to grow and also needs a high number of workers who can tolerate the conditions.

The English mainland colonies ranged from current day Maine to Georgia, north to south, and the Atlantic coast to the Appalachian Mountains (east to west). In none of these areas was the weather warm enough for a long enough period of time to grow the sugar cane crop. The West Indies are in the Caribbean and their location provided the warm, tropical environment. Indigenous peoples were first used to work the crop but they were too familiar with the land and not all with the crop. African slaves were brought to the Caribbean to farm the sugar cane because they could tolerate the weather and were familiar with the crop.

Write about 1 right that needed to be made better about slavery and the oppressed
GREYUIT [131]

Answer:

Slavery is a situation whereby one person, the slave, is removed from all his rights and subjected by another, the slaveholder, to forced labor without payment or recognition. In slavery, the main right that the slave loses is freedom, which is ultimately the independence that the person has to be able to exercise his personal rights without arbitrary limitations. Therefore, the main right that should be improved with respect to slavery is freedom, that is, granting freedom to slaves.
