Yeah, it makes sense. I'm guessing it means something like; if you want to have happiness you have to go through the sadness and other emotions first to get it. or ; The path to happiness and success is a twisted and bumpy road, so in order to get there you've gotta work out the kinks first. Or something along those lines I guess.
