m_a_m_a [10]

C is the correct answer.

The Speaker of the House is usually the strongest figure in the majority party. Since the Congresswoman is in the minority party, she would not be eligible for either the Majority leader or Speaker position.

Since she is the MOST powerful representative in her party, it is unlikely she would be a whip, which acts as a deputy for the party's leaders.

So, C is the correct answer.

s344n2d4d5 [400]

1. Madison discusses this issue in Federalist No. 10, the tenth of the Federalist Papers, a series of essays intended to argue for the ratification of the Constitution.

In it, Madison argues that factions are inevitable because of how men interact. People will always have different opinions, and if they also have different levels of income and power, they will always create alliances with those that are more similar to them and attempt to exercise power in this way. Because of its inevitability, the country needed a way to safeguard against this problem.

2. Madison’s solution was to propose a representative democracy, instead of a direct one as suggested initially by the Founding Fathers. This indirectly led to the creation of the Electoral College. Madison also suggested the separation of powers, so that, even if a faction gained control of a portion of the power, they would be prevented from controlling it completely.

Why did the United States invade Iraq in 2003?
VARVARA [1.3K]

Answer:

The United States believed that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction which posed a great threat at the hands of the dictatorial leader Saddam Hussein. It also believed that terrorists were supported and even harbored by the country. So, to remove the dictator from power and to get rid of any weapons and eliminate or drive out terrorists were the main objectives behind the attack on Iraq.

Explanation:

The rationale behind the motive to invade and attack Iraq was to primarily end the regime of the dictatorial leader Saddam Hussein. Other purposes were to end the harboring of terrorists in the land and eliminate any weapons of mass destruction that Iraq was believed to be in possession of.

The attack on Iraq by the United States in 2003 was based on US's beliefs that the Arab nation has disobeyed the demands of the United Nations and had harbored and supported terrorists. Moreover, the need to eliminate the dictator Saddam Hussein and establish a democratic government and provide peace to the Iraq people also became the main objective behind the invasion. The US also believed that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction which can act as a huge threat to the overall safety of everyone around the world. So, the need to identify, isolate and destroy such weapons before they are actually put into use also led to the attack. US military continued to stay in Iraq till 2011 after which all troops were withdrawn.
