Jason had so much confidence in the way he had written his speech that he neglected to practice it. He only printed the speech outline right before he was due to present it and this gave him no time to prepare.

It can be said therefore that because of his confidence in his speech, he procrastinated rehearsing his speech until it was too late and this caused him to be nervous when presenting the speech because he was only saying it for the first time.
