The author means that when people try to be fair, they will find that they are better with opinions and not facts.

Stories and characters help explain what we should and should not do/be like. We should care because stories have been passed down from generations so that way we can learn the morals hidden in them. All stories have an underlying moral that can greatly impact your life and help you look at the world in a new way
