a. The significance of Marbury v. Madison was that it was the first U.S. Supreme Court case to apply "Judicial Review", as well as the fact that it allowed the Supreme Court to rule laws as unconstitutional.

Short is the positive degree, shorter is the comparative degree, and shortest is the superlative degree.

In the sentence "Cheetahs are faster runners than lions" the adjective in question is faster. We know that its degree of comparison is comparative.

The colony of South Carolina remained an agricultural state for many decades, as it was mostly based on work done in the plantations by slaves in land owned by slave-owners.
