23: List the different types of radiation according to wavelength? Please put them in the order of longest wavelength to shortes
Butoxors [25]

Explanation:

Radiation means ‘energy that is transported from one spot to another without the need of direct contact between the two locations’, Light in each carries a different amount of energy, this is what we call electromagnetic radiation or electromagnetic waves. Gamma rays are the most energetic, and radio is the least.

In order from longest to shortes wavelenghts we have:

 • Radio waves: they are made by various types of transmitters, given off by stars, sparks, and lightning, they have the lowest frequencies (longest wavelenghts) in the electromagnetic spectrum and are used mainly for communications.
 • Microwaves: they are extremely high-frequency radio waves (Their wavelength is usually a couple of centimeters) made by various types of transmitters.
 • Infra-red waves: they are just below visible red light in the electromagnetic spectrum, they're given off by hot objects.
 • Visible lights is the tiny part of the electromagnetic spectrum our eyes can detect.
 • Ultra-Violet: this light is given off by the Sun in large quantities. We call it "UV" for short and can also be used to kill microbes.
 • X-rays: they are very high-frequency waves that carry a lot of energy. They will pass through most substances, and this makes them useful in medicine and industry to see inside things.
 • Gamma rays: they are given off by stars and by some radioactive substances. They are extremely high-frequency waves (the shortest wavelength) and carry a large amount of energy. They pass through most materials.

In the image, I annexed you can see the electromagnetic spectrum with the type of radiations from the shortest to the longest wavelengths.

I hope you find this information useful and interesting! Good luck!

Which best describes soil found in deserts? a.dry with little organic matter b.moist and rich with organic matter c.formed from
damaskus [11]
Deserts are A) dry with little organic matter. Although it seems that D might be correct in fact it is not because desert soil is not totally unable to support plant life because in fact some plants grow in the desert and especially following a rain storm the desert can bloom with plant life.

People living in the Sahel region in countries such as the Sudan, Chad, and neighboring Ethiopia suffer from undernourishment, d
olganol [36]

Answer: Please refer to Explanation

Explanation:

Undernourishment

This is defined as being unable to take the required amount of food and nutrients for energy that the body needs per day. This has to have gone on for a year for it to be classified as Undernourishment.

Desertification

This refers to a situation where land that was once fertile looses that fertility and instead begins to become more desert like. This is very prevalant in the Sahel region of Africa and can be caused by droughts and inefficient farming practices.

Food Security

This is defined as the access to sufficient, safe, and nutritious food at all times needed to be able to sustain the human body by meeting the minimum amount of recommended energy that the body requires to function.

The Sahel is an area immediately south of the Sahara Desert. It is semi-arid in nature and is prone to prolonged periods of drought.

When this drought occurs it tends to cause soil that was once fertile to begin to turn into a desert like soil due to the soil not getting water for such a prolonged period of time.

When there is a lot of fertile land used for farming lost to desertification then the people in those areas cannot farm and get food needed to survive. This causes Food Security issues because people do not have access to food that they require to survive.

Should this happen and the people there go through Food security crisis, they will become undernourished as they are unable to take the recommended amount of food necessary.
