What happens at Yorktown?
leva [86]

The British army led by Cornwallis faced defeat in the battle of Yorktown.

Explanation:

Yorktown was the last battle place in the American Revolutionary War. The British troops led by Cornwallis finally surrendered in the Battle of Yorktown. The Continental Army was under the control of Nathaniel Greene and they applied several brilliant war tactics.

When the British troops retreated to Yorktown George Washington led his army down from the North. By this time the French navy also moved to the coast near Yorktown after defeating the British navy. After eleven days of war the British troops finally surrendered by accepting the terms of George Washington.
