Tombstone was founded a few years earlier by Ed Schieffelin, a former scout with the United States Army. Schieffelin headed to the Arizona Territory in the 1870s to strike it rich in mining.
It was a very deadly war--the Great War produced new forms of guns, bombs, and gas weapons which proved to be devastating.

The method of trench warfare in addition to highly accurate and deadly weapons led to both large numbers of causalities and stalemates.
