Basically (-3)^2 is literally negative three times negative three so 9
In -3^2 the calculator understands
3^2 which is 9 and then makes it negative (-9) because it doesn't see the - as part of what is being squared

Peter saves $167 a month. Peter saves $37 less each month than Bill. How much will Bill save in 2 years?
Vlad [161]

Answer:

Hello! Your answer should be $2448.

Step-by-step explanation:

First, we should add 37 to 167 to find out how much money Bill makes in one month. Once we find that to be 204, we must multiply that by however many months he will be saving up for (24 months = 2 years). This will give us the expression 204 x 28, which equals 2448.

So, Bill will save $2448 in 2 years. Hope this helps!

Draw a conclusion is the statement below always sometimes or never true give at least two examples to support your reasoning the
hodyreva [135]
It's sometimes true.

One example is the least common multiple of 2 and 3 is 6, which is their product.

But the product isn't always the answer because (example 2:) the least common multiple of 6 and 10 is 30 because 6*5=30 and 3*10=30, however 6*10 is 60.

Ergo, it is only sometimes true.

Four brothers and their sister have the average age 7. Four brothers have the average age 6. How old is the sister?
AnnyKZ [126]

Answer:

11 years old

Step-by-step explanation:

If four brothers have the average age 6, then the sum of their ages is

4\cdot 6=24

years.

Let x years be the age of sister. If four brothers and their sister have the average age 7, then

\dfrac{24+x}{5}=7.

Multiply this equation by 5:

24+x=35\Rightarrow x=35-24=11.

The sister is 11 years old.
