Passage. In this excerpt from Virginia Woolf's Mrs. Dalloway, identify the text that makes unconventional use of metaphors. What

I believe this is the correct answer:
So before a battle begins, the horses paw the ground; toss their heads; the light shines on their flanks; their necks curve. So Peter Walsh and Clarissa, sitting side by side on the blue sofa, challenged each other.

I would choose that particular paragraphs because the metaphor is slightly unusual there - two kids, Clarissa and Peter Walsh (when they were young) are being compared to horses, which is not really a common occurrence.

Write an essay in which you take a position on whether or not the penny should be preserved
Phoenix [80]
Here’s an idea on what you can write.

Today, there’s literally nothing you can buy with a single penny – and you can’t do much else with it either. Vending machines don’t accept them, and neither do most parking meters. Even automatic toll booths won’t take them – except in Illinois, the home state of President Abraham Lincoln, whose face adorns the coin.

Pennies cannot buy what they used to back in the day any more pennies are practically worthless. I personally do not believe that the penny should be preserved just because it holds no initial value anymore. Back in the day you were able to buy bubble gum or candy for Penny and it was a big part of a price back in the day. But nothing is a penny anymore and the penny has lost its value. The only thing that the penny would be valued for is Abraham Lincoln on it. Because it was a big part of the US history with Abe Lincoln. Maybe one penny could be preserved for a history site. But other than that it should not even be in circulation anymore because it has no value it has no worth. Because of this I do not believe the penny should be preserved. It just doesn’t have the value that it used to back in the 1980s or even further than that money has took in a revelation many different times and now in 2020 we are looking at making everything electronica so at that point there will be no value in pennies or dollars or anything at that point. And that is my point of view on why the penny should not be preserved.

Which statement best describes the central idea of the text? Question 35 options: Women protested and made speeches in order to
Likurg_2 [28]

Hello. Unfortunately you did not submit the text that this question refers to. Without the text it is impossible for me to show you which answer option is the correct answer. However, I will try to help you find that answer as best I can.

There is only one way to find the correct answer, and that is by reading the text, and that is what you should do. When reading the text, you will be able to find its central idea, which is nothing more than the subject that the text is presenting. In that case, you will be able to find that subject when you identify what the author of the text is talking about, what he is presenting to the reader.
