Civic duty is based on the principle which is that citizens owe allegiance to their government and the government also should protects its citizens. The civic duties are the responsibilities of citizens in a society. .

Cvic duties include responsibilities and duties. Duties are legally enforceable and citizens are expected to perform their duties. Some examples of civic duties include paying taxes, obeying the law and voting.

In situations whereby a person does not fulfil a civic duty, the person may be punished, pay a fine or go to jail. For example, if someone doesn't obey the laws and either kills or steals, the person may eventually go to jail for the offence.
