#1 Many people around the world believe certain books should be banned, why is that? Well, first off there are books that contain sensitive topics such as religion, with these books people see it as offensive to them and their beliefs.
#2 Following that, parents and elders seem to dislike when strong language and cursing are present in a book, they feel as though they must protect children from it.
#3 Then again, another reason is, some books are deemed to “depressing” and “unfit” for people, books with mature themes and sad surroundings are something that people don’t want to read about.
#4 And finally, Racial topics. Books that talk about race stir up a lot of controversy about wether or not it’s offensive, some people argue that race is too much of a sensitive topic to talk about and therefore they want it to be banned. Overall these are some reasons why people believe certain books should be banned.

(Hope it helps!)

Which phrase is the best definition of intertextuality?
erica [24]

Answer:

A thematic connection between two texts

Explanation:

The term intertextuality refers to the relationship between multiple literary texts, the way a text is shaped by another text.

The phrase that best defines intertextuality is the thematic connection between two texts. For example, both texts could tell about the Second World War. There will be some differences, but there will be some similarities, as well. The older text could influence the one that was written later. In literature, this pattern is present in countless cases.

What is the Awe of Nature in the story “Fall of the house of Usher” by Edgar Allen Poe?
SashulF [63]

The state of the area of the house of the ushers is very bad stating the condition of the usher themselves and that of the area. The day has been described as dark and dull. The trees are decaying and scary to look at, not cut from a long period of time.

Explanation:

The main thing in the story "The fall of the house of Ushers" is the house in which the Ushers used to live. The house has been described in a very bad condition by the narrator and in fact it has cracks also in it making it show that it is gloomy and very old.

The house is gloomy and mysterious. The narrator observes that the house seems to have absorbed an evil and diseased atmosphere from the decaying trees and murky ponds around it. Along with that the area surrounding the house is also the same as the house.
