in step 2 he made his first mistake

1/2(n-4)-3=3-(2n+3)

1/2n-4/2-3=3-(2n+3)

1/2n-2-3=3-(2n+3)

in the second step he put 5 instead of 2.

There are 24 sticks in pattern 6. The diagram indicates that one pattern is made up of one box built from four sticks.

<h3>What is the geometric pattern?</h3>

A geometric pattern is a pattern made out of geometric forms that are generally repeated, much like a wallpaper design.

The given figure shows that one pattern consists of one box formed from the 4 sticks.

Pattrern 1 = 1 box

Pattern 2 = 2 box

Pattern 6 = 6 box

1 box = 4 stick

Pattern 6 = 6 box = 6 ×4 = 24 sticks

Hence,there are 24 sticks in pattern 6.

Let f be the function that determines the area of a circle (in square cm) given the radius of the circle in cm, r. That is, f(r)
yarga [219]

Answer:

The answers to each question are:

a)A=f(r=4cm)=50.26cm^2

b)\Delta A(10.91cm-10.9cm)=f(10.91cm)-f(10.9cm)=0.6851cm^2

c)C=5\cdot f(r=12.7cm)=2533.54cm^2

d)D=f(r=28cm)+59cm^2=2522.01cm^2

Step-by-step explanation:

The function f(r) that represents the area of a circle (in square cm) is:

f(r)=\pi r^2

a) To represent the area (in square cm) of a circle whose radius is 4 cm, you just have to evaluate the function with a radius of 4cm:

A=f(r=4cm)=50.26cm^2

b) To represent how much the area (in square cm) of a circle increases by when its radius increases from 10.9 to 10.91 cm, you have to represent the difference between the final area with a radius of 10.91cm and the initial area of a radius of 10.9cm:

\Delta A(10.91cm-10.9cm)=f(10.91cm)-f(10.9cm)=0.6851cm^2

c) To represent the area of 5 circles that all have a radius of 12.7 cm, we can use the function f(r) to represent the area of a circle with a radius of 12.7cm and multiply it for 5:

C=5\cdot f(r=12.7cm)=2533.54cm^2

d) To represent the area of the larger circle that is 59 square cm more than the first circle (with a radius of 28 cm), we can use the function f(r) to obtain the area of the first circle and addition 59 square cm:

D=f(r=28cm)+59cm^2=2522.01cm^2

Which fraction is equivalent to StartFraction 2 Over 6 EndFraction? StartFraction 3 Over 7 EndFraction, because StartFraction 2
Hunter-Best [27]

A fraction is a way to describe a part of a whole. The correct option is B.

<h3>What is a Fraction?</h3>

A fraction is a way to describe a part of a whole. such as the fraction ¼ can be described as 0.25.

The fraction that is equivalent to 2/6 is,

3/9, because 2/6 = 1/3, and 1/3= 3/9. Therefore, 2/6 = 3/9

Hence, the correct option is B.

The graph shows a probability distribution. What is P(X&lt;5)
Thepotemich [5.8K]

Answer:

P(x < 5) = 0.70

Step-by-step explanation:

Note:  The area under a probability "curve" must be = to 1.

Finding the sub-area representing x < 5 immediately yields the desired probability.

Draw a dashed, vertical line through x = 5.  The resulting area, on the left, is a trapezoid.  The area of a trapezoid is equal to:

 (average length)·(width, which here is:

  2 + 5

----------- · 0.02  =  (7/2)(0.2) =  0.70

      2

Thus, P(x < 5) = 0.70
