Given:

M=-5 and (-3,-2).

To find:

The equation in the form y=mx+b.

Solution:

The slope intercept form of a line is

y=mx+b          ...(i)

where, m is slope and b is y-intercept.

We have m=-5. Putting m=-5 in (i), we get

y=-5x+b          ...(ii)

We have a point (-3,-2). Putting x=-3 and y=-2 in (ii), we get

-2=-5(-3)+b

-2=15+b

-2-15=b

-17=b

So, the value of b is -17.

Putting b=-17 in (ii), we get

y=-5x+(-17)

y=-5x-17

Therefore, the required equation is y=-5x-17.

A study of commuting times reports the travel times to work of a random sample of 20 employed adults in New York State. The mean
Elodia [21]

Answer:

The standard error of the mean = 5.14 mins

Step-by-step explanation:

Number of random sample (n) = 20

Mean(X) = 31.25 mins

Standard deviation (α) = 23.7 mins

Standard error of mean =

standard deviation / √sample size

= 23.7/√20

= 23.7/4.4721

= 5.14 mins

Suppose a geometric sequence has a common ratio of 5. What is the next term after 9?
creativ13 [48]

Answer:

            45

Step-by-step explanation:

a_{n+1}=a_n\cdot r

So, if the common ratio is 5 the next term is always 5 times the previous term.

9·5 = 45

Musya8 [376]

Answer:

66 jars of jam

Step-by-step explanation:

Elizabeth is selling jam at a farmers market.

She earns $5 for each jar of Jan that she sells

Her goal is to earn $450 during the weekend.

Elizabeth has already made $95 from the sale of her jams and $24 from leading a demonstration

Therefore the total amount that has been made is

= $95 + $24

= $119

Since her target is $450 and she has already made $119 then the amount remaining to complete the target can be calculated as follows

= $450 - $119

= $331

The minimum number of jars that Elizabeth must sell to realize her goal can be calculated as follows

= 331/5

= 66

Hence Elizabeth must sell 66 jars of jam to reach her goal.
