What are public policies? How is education affected by public policy? What are some of the interests that dominate education pol
s2008m [1.1K]

Answer:

Public policy is the process by which governments translate their political vision into programmes and actions to deliver ‘outcomes — desired changes in the real world’. The ‘real world’ is constantly changing and this has resulted in the movement towards greater use of evidence in policy design, making and implementation. Rational choice theory, or now more frequently known as evidence-based policy, argues that focusing on scientific evidence, instead of history and culture, should guide our public policy making.

How is education affected by public policy?

Over time, the following have all been goals of public education:

• to prepare children for citizenship

• to cultivate a skilled workforce

• to teach cultural literacy

• to prepare students for college

• to help students become critical thinkers

• to help students compete in a global marketplace

Explanation:

Major educational policy issues involve the following questions:

Who should be educated and by whom?

What should be taught, and who decides this?

Where and when should students be educated?

Who is responsible for the delivery of education?

How much should education cost and who should pay for it?

What are the standards for measuring success?

What should and can be done to correct failure?

A present sum of money is equivalent to the future sum or series of future sums at a specified interest rate. Group of answer ch
Paul [167]

Answer:

False

Explanation:

The present value of money concepts show that money changes in value with time(tume value of money). Therefore the present value of money today is the discounted value of future cash flows or "series" of cash flows. This shows that money decreases value with time and the present value of money today is not "equivalent" or greater than money in the future as a result of inflation or some annual rate of return not utilized.

What is human race: the history of racial typing???
Naya [18.7K]

Answer - Race as a categorizing term referring to human beings was first used in the English language in the late 16th century. Until the 18th century it had a generalized meaning similar to other classifying terms such as type, sort, or kind. Occasional literature of Shakespeare’s time referred to a “race of saints” or “a race of bishops.” By the 18th century, race was widely used for sorting and ranking the peoples in the English colonies—Europeans who saw themselves as free people, Amerindians who had been conquered, and Africans who were being brought in as slave labour—and this usage continues today.

The peoples conquered and enslaved were physically different from western and northern Europeans, but such differences were not the sole cause for the construction of racial categories. The English had a long history of separating themselves from others and treating foreigners, such as the Irish, as alien “others.” By the 17th century their policies and practices in Ireland had led to an image of the Irish as “savages” who were incapable of being civilized. Proposals to conquer the Irish, take over their lands, and use them as forced labour failed largely because of Irish resistance. It was then that many Englishmen turned to the idea of colonizing the New World. Their attitudes toward the Irish set precedents for how they were to treat the New World Indians and, later, Africans.
