What doee an enzyme do to the activation energy necessary to start a chemical teeaction
OlgaM077 [116]
Catalysts lower the activation energy for reactions. The lower the activation energy for a reaction, the faster the rate. Thus enzymes speed up reactions by lowering activation energy. ... The binding of a substrate to an enzyme active site is termed the "enzyme-substrate complex.

How does the coriolis effect contribute to formation of tropical cyclones ?
algol13
The Coriolis effect is an inertial force that acts on objects that are in motion within a frame of reference that rotates with respect to its inertial frame. Any reference frame with clockwise rotation, the force acts to the left of the motion of that object; and vice versa.

Since the the earth rotates on a 23° axis, circulating air is deflected towards the right in the northern hemisphere and towards the left in the southern hemisphere.

Because the air is moving in a curved path creating circular spin patterns as the air travels from areas of high pressure to low pressure.

And so that’s why hurricanes in the north rotate counterclockwise, and tropical cyclones in the south rotate clockwise.

I hope that helps.

Differentiate between Climate and Weather
trapecia [35]

The differences are

Climate: are in regular font. Weather are in italics.

Definition Describes the average conditions expected at a specific place at a given time.A region's climate is generated by the climate system, which has five components: atmosphere, hydrosphere, cryosphere, land surface, and biosphere. Describes the atmospheric conditions at a specific place at a specific point in time. Weather generally refers to day-to-day temperature and precipitation activity

Components Climate may include precipitation, temperature, humidity, sunshine, wind velocity, phenomena such as fog, frost, and hail storms over a long period of time. Weather includes sunshine, rain, cloud cover, winds, hail, snow, sleet, freezing rain, flooding, blizzards, ice storms, thunderstorms, steady rains from a cold front or warm front, excessive heat, heat waves and more

About Climate is defined as statistical weather information that describes the variation of weather at a given place for a specified interval. Weather is the day-to-day state of the atmosphere, and its short-term (minutes to weeks) variation

Time period Measured over a long period Measured for short term

When map scale is expressed as a ratio of map distance to ground distance (i.e., map distance:ground distance), there is an inve
den301095 [7]

Answer: True

Explanation:

The ratio of the map distance to ground distance usually involves the use of inverse relationship between the extent of coverage of the entire map and the amount of detail visible. And this relationship is always written as 1/x or 1:x.

Where the numerator represents the map distance which always equals 1 and the denominator represents the ground distance which has similar units as the numerator.
