Read the lines of poetry. Identify two or more poetic techniques being used in each example and write them on the line. There ma
Fittoniya [83]

Answer:

Two devices that are being used in the lines are:

C. repetition

D. rhyme/rhythm

Explanation:

Repetition is a literary device consisting of repeating the same word or phrase for emphasis or clarity. Repetition can appear in both prose and poetry, and it can also be a rhetorical device. In the lines we are analyzing here, the phrase "I'm growing" is repeated at the beginning of each line:

I'm growing fonder of my staff;

I'm growing dimmer in the eyes;

I'm growing fainter in my laugh;

I'm growing deeper in my sighs;

Rhyme is a correspondence of sounds between different words. In the lines above, we have a rhyme scheme of ABAB, that is, "staff" rhymes with "laugh" - lines 1 and 3 -, and "eyes" rhymes with "sighs" - lines 2 and 4.

As for rhythm, I believe we have an iambic tetrameter - a four time repetition of an unstressed syllable followed by a stressed one. Take a look below:

I'm growing fonder of my staff;

There never was a time when the world was without fire, but there was a time when men did not know how to kindle fire; and after
Marianna [84]

Answer:

With the 100's and early times

Explanation:

as stated in the article,"When a forest is set on fire by cinders from a neighboring volcano, or when a tree is set ablaze by a thunderbolt, we may say that nature strikes a match." Now, that doesn't seem very safe does it? And for the 1800's, the example here is the wild sputtering as said like this: "Although Walker's match did not require the bottle of acid, nevertheless it was not a good one. It could be lighted only by hard rubbing, and it sputtered and threw fire in all directions." Now, would you want to risk being being hurt by cinders or sputtering fire? Without the acid was safer, but not too safe. Plus, acids and chemicals often cause health problems. (As well as the ashes from fires) Hope this Helped!

larisa86 [58]

Answer:

Chiron helps Percy and Grover figure out that they must travel to Hades in order to recover the master bolt. Hades is the god who has turned against his brothers, Zeus and Poseidon. Hades must have had someone steal the master bolt for him so that Zeus and Poseidon would wage war on one another.

Hades is the god of the Underworld, which means that Percy and Grover have a ticket to Worm City.

The page is somewhere in chapter 9. Sorry not much help.
