Wright each fraction as a decimal <br> 8 24/25
kakasveta [241]
Okay so the first thing we are going to do is change \boxed{8 \frac{24}{25}} into a improper fraction: \boxed{8 \frac{24}{25}}= \frac{8*25+24}{25}=\boxed{ \frac{224}{25}}. \boxed{ \frac{224}{25}}=224÷25=8.96 \boxed{8 \frac{24}{25}} as a decimal is \boxed{8.96} .

Solve showing work <br>please help<br>don't understand :(
Viktor [21]
This is actually a very simple problem when you understand how to do it.

First, I would add the 12 to both sides.
Equation would now look like this x/6=24
Then I would do the inverse (opposite) of division which is multiplication.
So multiply 6 to both sides so we can get the x alone. 6*12=144
Now x is alone, and X = 144.

Jose and Gavin are reading the same book. At the beginning of the month, Jose was
Brums [2.3K]

Using linear functions, it is found that:

  • Jose's equation is: J = 17x + 10.
  • Gavin's equation is: G = 14x + 37.
  • They will be on the same page on the 9th day.

<h3>Linear function:</h3>

A <em>linear function</em> is modeled by:

y = mx + b

In which:

  • m is the slope, which is the rate of change.
  • b is the y-intercept, which is the value of y when x = 0.

Jose:

  • Initially, he was on page 10, hence b = 10.
  • He reads 17 pages per day, hence m = 17.
  • Hence, Jose's equation is: J = 17x + 10.

Gavin:

  • Initially, he was on page 37, hence b = 37.
  • He reads 14 pages per day, hence m = 14.
  • Hence, Gavin's equation is: G = 14x + 37.

The day they will both be on the same page is x for which:

J = G

Hence:

17x + 10 = 14x + 37

3x = 27

x = \frac{27}{3}

x = 9

They will be on the same page on the 9th day.

. Kerry bought a bag of dog food for $37.99. If sales tax is 7.6%, how much did she pay in tax?
Charra [1.4K]

Answer

Find out the how much did kerry pay in tax .

To proof

As given

Kerry bought a bag of dog food for $37.99.

If sales tax is 7.6%

7.6 % is written in the decimal form

= \frac{7.6}{100}

= 0.076

7.6 % of the $37.99 = 0.076 ×37.99

                               = 2.88724

                               = $2.89 ( approx)

Kerry pay in the sales tax be $2.89

Hence proved
