Answer:

$7 ; $4 ; $3

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that:

1 player loses and 2 wins

Loser pays each winner amount each winner already has

3 rounds was played

At the end, each player has lost 1 round each and has $8.00

Since each player lost 1 round each, then each player won twice.

Given that the players are A, B and C

Starting from the last round :

Recall; they all have $8 after the last round.

If A lost the last round and pays B and C the amount they already have.

B and C finally have $8, Hence amount A paid B and C = 8/2 = $4 each

Hence, at the end of 2nd round / before last round :

A has ($8 paid + $8 final) = $16

B and C each have $4

End of first round before 2nd round of game:

If B lost, and pays A and C the amount they already have ;

A finally has 16 hence, amount B pays A = 16/2 = $8

Amount B pays C = 4/2 = $2

A = $8

B = $4 + $(8 + 2) = $14

C = $2

Ist round

C will lose :

Amount C pays B = $14 / 2 = $7

Amount C pays A = $8 /2 = $4

Hence, amount C has before round 1:

$7 + $4 + $2 = $13

Hence; Before the game ;

Either of the three players have ;

$7 ; $4 and $13

Solve the triangle A = 2 B = 9 C =8
VARVARA [1.3K]

Answer:

\begin{gathered} A=\text{ 12}\degree \\ B=\text{ 114}\degree \\ C=54\degree \end{gathered}

Step-by-step explanation:

To calculate the angles of the given triangle, we can use the law of cosines:

\begin{gathered} \cos (C)=\frac{a^2+b^2-c^2}{2ab} \\ \cos (A)=\frac{b^2+c^2-a^2}{2bc} \\ \cos (B)=\frac{c^2+a^2-b^2}{2ca} \end{gathered}

Then, given the sides a=2, b=9, and c=8.

\begin{gathered} \cos (A)=\frac{9^2+8^2-2^2}{2\cdot9\cdot8} \\ \cos (A)=\frac{141}{144} \\ A=\cos ^{-1}(\frac{141}{144}) \\ A=11.7 \\ \text{ Rounding to the nearest degree:} \\ A=12º \end{gathered}

For B:

\begin{gathered} \cos (B)=\frac{8^2+2^2-9^2}{2\cdot8\cdot2} \\ \cos (B)=\frac{13}{32} \\ B=\cos ^{-1}(\frac{13}{32}) \\ B=113.9\degree \\ \text{Rounding:} \\ B=114\degree \end{gathered}\begin{gathered} \cos (C)=\frac{2^2+9^2-8^2}{2\cdot2\cdot9} \\ \cos (C)=\frac{21}{36} \\ C=\cos ^{-1}(\frac{21}{36}) \\ C=54.3 \\ \text{Rounding:} \\ C=\text{ 54}\degree \end{gathered}

A company sells tents in two styles, shown below. The sides and floor of each tent are made of nylon. Which tent requires less n
BartSMP [9]

Answer:  Tunnel tent.

Step-by-step explanation:

The tent which has the minimum area requires less nylon to manufacture,

Since, the area of Pup tent = Area of 3 square each having side 8 ft + Area of 2 equilateral triangle having side 8 ft

= 3 \times ( 8^2 ) + 2\times \frac{64\sqrt{ 3} }{4}

=  192+ 2\times \frac{64\sqrt{ 3} }{4}

= 192+ 32\sqrt{ 3}

= 247.425625842\approx 247.43\text { square ft}

Now, the area of tunnel tent = Area of square having side 8 ft + total Area of half cylinder having radius 4 ft and height 8 ft

= 8^2 + \frac{1}{2} [ 2\pi\times 4(4+8)]

= 64 + \pi\times 48

= 64 + 3.14\times 48

= 214.72\text { square ft}

Since, 214.72 < 247.43

Thus, Tunnel tent requires less nylon to manufacture.

Answer:

  32

Step-by-step explanation:

Angle E is congruent to angle C, so is the value required to make the sum of angles in triangle ABC be 180°.

  ∠E = 180° -118° -30° = 32°

The value of x is 32.
