The conflict in this passage will be one of <em>character vs. character</em>, most commonly known as <em>man vs. man</em>. This is because the main character will be competing against another person (Liam vs. Josh). This type of conflict is external, and often present in traditional literature and myths. Although there is no official list, other commonly accepted types of conflict are <em>man vs. self</em> and <em>man vs. society</em>.

Alliteration is literally defined at "the occurrence of the same letter or sound at the beginning of adjacent or closely connected words." So by using alliteration he gets a rhythm into the readers head to help them understand the story.
