Answer:

One characteristic of South Africa's policy of apartheid is 'Nonwhites were forced to live in separate areas from the white minority'.

Option: (A)

Explanation:

 • The notion of 'white supremacy' brought into practice by the white minority in South Africa gave birth to segregationist policies.

3. The first duty of the sovereign, that of protecting the society from the violence and invasion of other independent societies, can be performed only by means of a military force. But the expense both of preparing this military force in time of peace, and of employing it in time of war, is very different in the different states of society, in the different periods of improvement

The second duty of the sovereign, that of protecting, as far as possible, every member of the society from the injustice or oppression of every other member of it, or the duty of establishing an exact administration of justice, requires two very different degrees of expense in the different periods of society.

The third and last duty of the sovereign or commonwealth, is that of erecting and maintaining those public institutions and those public works, which though they may be in the highest degree advantageous to a great society, are, however, of such a nature, that the profit could never repay the expense to any individual, or small number of individuals; and which it, therefore, cannot be expected that any individual, or small number of individuals, should erect or maintain. The performance of this duty requires, too, very different degrees of expense in the different periods of society.

7.On 20 June 1789, the members of the French Third Estate, who had begun to call themselves the National Assembly, took the Tennis Court Oath, vowing "not to separate, and to reassemble wherever circumstances require, until the constitution of the kingdom is established". 11.Simply, the working conditions were terrible during the Industrial Revolution. As factories were being built, businesses were in need of workers. What aspects of civil rights protests helped the protesters gain public support for their cause
asambeis [7]

If you're talking about the American civil rights movement a good example is the non-violent tactics MLK employed (which are ideas he took from Ghandi). The peaceful march through Selma, Alabama highlighted the oppressive violence of the Jim Crowe south as the peaceful protesters were beat by state police without provocation. The images were aired on national news and were shocking to people of all colors throughout the rest of the country. These images and peace protesting baiting out violence were wildly effective in turning public opinion in favor of passing the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
