Answer:

Explanation:

Environmental changes occurs from time to time, we have the short term changes that do not last for a very long time and the long term changes that last for a while. Accumulate of short term changes can extend to long term as some of the long term effects are as a results of short term changes in the environment.

Short term environment changes can be favourable to some organism and adversely affect others. Raining season causes increase in growth and development of most plant species but a long period of drought and dryness makes its hard for some plant to strive while some plants can strive well in long period of drought. This makes the two changes different, the both have individual effects on plants response.

Answer:

Both short & long-term changes can:

  • Cause changes in individula traits (adaptation) in current and future generations of populaions
  • Just much more likely in long-term
  • Can be catastrophic and result in disapperance of a population in an ecosystem
  • Can be caused by natural events and human activity
  • Can result in positive and negative effects on populations
  • Can lead to adaptations and natural selection of species

Differences:

Short term - Environmental changes that occur slowly over time and effects organisms over generations

More likely to cause changes in population traits (adaptation) because it is long-term

Short-term environmental change is an environmental change that occurs quickly and effects organisms immediately.

Lasts for a short period of time

Not likely to cause changes in traits (adaptation) in populations because it is short term

Long term - A long-term environmental changes are... climate change, droughts, deforestation, urbanization, Earth’s orbit, Sun’s intensity, Global Warming, radioactive waste/pollution, extinction of species this could happen to anyone of the food webs.

Last for long period of time.

Explanation:

A short-term environmental change is drought, smog, flooding, volcanic eruption, blizzards, and pollution. This could happen in any of the food webs. This can effect how species will have to have to adapt to their environment so that they can continue to live there and not die off.

A long-term environmental change is... ice age, deforestation, urbanization, Earth's orbit, Sun's intensity, global Warming, radioactive waste/pollution. Extinction of species could happen to anyone of the food webs in a long term change.

During an experiment, if you purposely change the temperature to test a hypothesis, the temperature is called the a. manipulated
vodomira [7]

Answer:

Option a (manipulated variable) would be the appropriate choice.

Explanation:

  • To analyze the influence on something like a dependent variable, another modified variable seems to be an important variable responsive to modifications in quite an analysis.
  • Plainly defined, the variable has been adjusted to determine its effect on the overall outcome of the study. There would be only one manipulated component in a correctly planned analysis.

The other options offered are not relevant to the situation described. So, the solution above is the best one.
