What would be the lasting impact of the Roman Empire? (answer the question with at least a paragraph. Describe two lasting effec
STALIN [3.7K]

Answer:

To many historians, the fall of the Western Roman Empire in the 5th century CE has always been viewed as the end of the ancient world and the onset of the Middle Ages, often improperly called the Dark Ages, despite Petrarch’s assertion. Since much of the west had already fallen by the middle of the 5th century CE, when a writer speaks of the fall of the empire, he or she generally refers to the fall of the city of Rome. Although historians generally agree on the year of the fall, 476 CE, they often disagree on its causes. English historian Edward Gibbon, who wrote in the late 18th century CE, points to the rise of Christianity and its effect on the Roman psyche while others believe the decline and fall were due, in part, to the influx of 'barbarians' from the north and west.

Three innovations in transportation during the 1800s
tresset_1 [31]
The two major advances in transportation that took place during the 1800s were the steamboat and the train.
In the United States at the beginning of the 1800s, essentially all transportation was either by animal power or by wind power (sails)  Other boats could go down rivers, but not back up them.  Nothing could go overland except if it was pulled by animals.
The invention of the steamboat changed this so that boats could go either direction on rivers.  When railroads were first built and later expanded, the problem of moving goods and people overland was solved too.

What was Prince Shotoku's main reform in government?
Free_Kalibri [48]

Answer:Other reformers, however, carried on Shotoku's efforts to create a strong government. In 646, they put forth a program known as the Taika Reform. Taika means “ great change.” New laws made everyone a subject of the emperor. Lands and people controlled by the clan leaders now belonged to him.

If the relationship is proportional, what is the missing value from the table? x y 8 6 16 ? 24 18 8 9 12 14
Katena32 [7]

Answer:

The missing value is 12

Explanation:

In a proportional relationship the ratios of the two variables are equivalent. That is, if one variable doubles, the other will double in the same way. Using the values:

X 8 16 24

Y 6 ? 18

When X is doubled from 8 to 16, 6 must be doubled from 6 to 12

When X is 3 times 8 = 24, Y is 3 times 6 = 18

Thus, the missing value is 12
