In the past, the concern was twofold. Poverty and hunger high on the list. Today world poverty is declining at a rapid rate and hunger is also becoming a ‘none’ problem. This is not to say there still are pockets of both, but with time the catastrophic nature of these two concerns are becoming less and less. How has that happened? As in China, it is the great migration from rural areas to urban/city areas. From agriculture to industrial efforts. From poor income areas to higher income areas. Technology has affected both. Technology is becoming the driver for industrialization and technology is solving the problems of food production. Technology holds the key to advances in civilization.

With advancements in infrastructure caused by advancements in technology, more and more people can share in a broader economic market, that was the siren call of globalization, to internationalize the marketplace. From a restricted village as a market, farmers and factories can sell to a broader audience. First within a country then beyond to the world.
