It is specifically asking for your views, but here is what the poem means to me:

It is telling a story of a student who seems to live in a poor family who cannot afford much (they don't have an alarm clock, nobody washed the uniform, they can't afford lighting, it seems, they have to eat breakfast at school, and they don't even have a pencil). Therefore, they may be living on their own due to their mother not being around (cause mama wasn't home) and nothing is mentioned about a father, grandparents, etc., but a sibling is mentioned. To me, this poem is all about the struggle of two siblings who can't afford most things. Though not much is told about them in detail, many conclusions can be drawn, like how they are poor and they are alone. Hope this helps in some way.
