Dahasolnce [82]

Part B is saying to equal the both equations, so

5x + 2 = 5x + 5

Take a look, we have the same multiplicative to our variable, but we have different sums, so, if we just say x = 0 we wil have:

5.0 + 2 = 5.0 + 5

0 + 2 = 0 + 5

2 = 5

And of course it's not true, 2 will never be equal to 5, so we can say there's no solution for x.

Another way to see this is:

5x + 2 = 5x + 5

5x - 5x = 5 - 2

0 = 3

0 of couse isn't equal to 3.

Graph the line that represents a proportional relationship between d dd and t tt with the property that an increase of 0.2 point
Citrus2011 [14]

Answer:

Part a) The graph in the attached figure

Part b) The units rate of change is 9

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

A relationship between two variables, t, and d, represent a proportional variation if it can be expressed in the form d/t=k or d=kt

step 1

Find the constant of proportionality k

For t=0.2, d=1.8

substitute

k=d/t

k=1.8/0.2=9

the linear equation is equal to

d=9t

using a graphing tool

see the attached figure

step 2

Find the unit rate

we know that

In a proportional relationship the constant of proportionality k is equal to the unit rate of change or slope m of the line, because the line passes through the origin

so

The units rate of change is 9

That means------> A change of 1 unit in t correspond to a change of 9 units in d

see the attached figure to better understand the problem
