At the present moment in world history nearly every nation must choose between alternative ways of life. The choice is too often

not a free one. One way of life is based upon the will of the majority, and is distinguished by free institutions, representative government, free elections, guarantees of individual liberty, freedom of speech and religion, and freedom from political oppression. The second way of life is based upon the will of a minority forcibly imposed upon the majority. It relies upon terror and oppression, a controlled press and radio, fixed elections, and the suppression of personal freedoms. I believe that it must be the policy of the United States to support free peoples who are resisting attempted subjugation by armed minorities or by outside pressures. I believe that we must assist free peoples to work out their own destinies in their own way. The ideas expressed in this passage are good example of what U.S. policy

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

Although you forgot to attach the options for this question we can say the following.

The ideas expressed in this passage are a good example of what U.S. policy?

Answer:

the policy of Containment.

The above-attached excerpt is part of the Truman Doctrine of 1947, and clearly reflects the policy of Containments established by the United States in the time of the Cold War. This policy of Containment was the US's answer to the Soviet Union's policy of spreading Communism in many parts of the world.

Let's remember that after World War II, the Soviet Union installed Communism in many countries of Europe as was the case of Rumania. Albania, Poland, East Germany Czechoslovakia, and Hungary.

During the so-called Cold War years, the USSR and the United States competed in the arms race, the space race, and the spread/containment of Communism, creating many tense moments.

What makes a political cartoon different from other cartoons
ser-zykov [4K]

Answer:

Political cartoons can be very funny, especially if you understand the issue that they're commenting on. Their main purpose, though, is not to amuse you but to persuade you. A good political cartoon makes you think about current events, but it also tries to sway your opinion toward the cartoonist's point of view. Other cartoons are simply there to give someone a view of a different world. Normal cartoons are to get people to read and laugh.
