Consider what you already knew about
zvonat [6]

Answer:

Previously, I knew of Icarus as being the boy who got too greedy and flew towards the sun without thinking of the consequences. After, I believe he had good reason to. He had been trapped in Crete for so long, that he was so excited to see the world and all that was of it. Icarus is meant to teach people to be mindful of consequences before you perform any actions, even if it does seem like the best option in the moment. Don't let your greed override your logical side.

If you were a Chinese migrating to Canada in the 1900s, describe how you would have felt living in Canada and why?
Alex

Answer: If I were a Chinese person moving to Canada in the 1900s, I would feel like an outsider in Canada.

Explanation: I would feel like an outsider because it's a completely different country altogether.  My traditions and beliefs would clash with Canadians.  I would most likely get treated differently because I'm of a different race than them.  However, it would give me certain freedoms that I didn't have in China, which would be a major advantage of migrating there.  Not to mention how sad it is to leave your home and go to a place you're unsure of.

Have a great day! :)

Read the excerpt from The Odyssey.
Mariulka [41]

Answer:

The enormous stone is easily and routinely moved by the giant Cyclops.

Explanation:

The epic simile that is used in this excerpt is the one that compares the enormous stone to a cap, and the way the Cyclops moves it to the way one would cap a quiver. This implies that the Cyclops finds moving the stone to be a very easy and mundane task, and that the stone is easily and routinely moved by the giant Cyclops.
