Eyewitness errors are the main reason for false convictions, especially in robbery and sexual assault instances.
- Robbery is the illegal seizure of another person's property through force or the threat of force. Robbery hasn't happened without using force or threatening to use force. The term "theft" is a catch-all that refers to all theft-related offenses as well as robbery and burglary.
- One of the main reasons for unjust convictions is eyewitness error. In fact, according to the American Psychological Association, one in three eyewitnesses misidentify the scene.
- Mistakes in identifying perpetrators can be influenced by a variety of factors, such as poor viewing conditions, insufficient time to view the perpetrator, or too much time between witnessing and identification. In laboratory studies of eyewitness identifications, this process is modeled.

Well, first off, they know what to do when it comes to danger. We don't all always know what to do in that situation. Like, for example, a bear. If you see a bear, normally a person would run (fight, flight, or freeze) or we would do whatever comes to instinct, right? No, don't do that. You need to stand your ground and DO NOT MAKE EYE CONTACT OR YOU WILL FIGHT FOR YOUR LIFE. You need to face the bear, look directly at it, make yourself look the biggest you possibly can and use any available weapon: hiking stick, knife, bear spray, etc. A scout would know all of this in a heartbeat. I would know because I used to be a girl scout.
Hope this helps!

Answer:
This is the defense mechanisms known as denial.
Explanation:
A defense mechanism is an unconscious process which occurs when an individual cannot handle the stress and anxiety induced by his/her reality and needs to protect him/herself from it.
Denial is a type of defense mechanism in which the individual refuses to accept his/her reality and thus blocks external events which can damage his/her conscience. In this case, he/she can be seen in complete denial and thus acts as if certain things, events or aspects do not exist.
