What effect does Industrialization and the Cotton gin have on Slavery?

Answer:

The cotton gin, invented in 1793 by Eli Whitney, reduced cotton´s processing time, making its large-scale cultivation more profitable. Meanwhile, the first Industrial Revolution introduced the production of cotton fabric in water-powered mills which had the American South as their main supplier.

Explanation:

The mills’ need for cotton made the prices go up, and therefore white southern farmers required more land and more slaves to meet the demand.
