Answer:

The first commercially available antibacterial was Prontosil, a sulfonamide developed by the German biochemist Gerhard Domagk[3]. 1940 – 1962: The golden era of antibiotics. Most of the antibiotic classes we use as medicines today were discovered and introduced to the market. Alexander Fleming was, it seems, a bit disorderly in his work and accidentally discovered penicillin. Upon returning from a holiday in Suffolk in 1928, he noticed that a fungus, Penicillium notatum, had contaminated a culture plate of Staphylococcus bacteria he had accidentally left uncovered. The term antibiotic was first used in 1942 by Selman Waksman and his collaborators in journal articles to describe any substance produced by a microorganism that is antagonistic to the growth of other microorganisms in high dilution. Antibiotics do not work on viruses, such as those that cause colds, flu, bronchitis, or runny noses, even if the mucus is thick, yellow, or green. Antibiotics are only needed for treating certain infections caused by bacteria, but even some bacterial infections get better without antibiotics.

What type of diction does Langston Hughes use in his poem, Mother to Son? A. Colloquial B. Formal C. Ornate D. Urban
DaniilM [7]

In the poem "Mother to Son" it's very commum to use words in everyday speech, which may be different in different regions or communities. In this text we have some example as “Cause you find it’s kinder hard.”

So, the vernacular uses language gives the impression that the woman is less educated and probably from the countryside.

Because of that, the diction is Colloquial.
