This Massachusetts group of women were called the
Daughters of Liberty and they are known for putting matters into their own hands.
During the “Coffee Party” their attention was diverted to a local merchant who
hoarded coffee and refused to sell it to the people, the women decided to put
matters into their hands by forming an assembly of women with carts and trucks,
they walked to the warehouse and insist to get the key from the merchant, one
of the women attacked him which forced the merchant to give up the warehouse key. The women opened
the warehouse and took all the coffee.
Hitler and Mussolini were very different people. Hitler’s early life, wartime
experiences, aims, how he came to power and how he ruled Germany were all
different to Mussolini’s rule over Italy. Hitler’s dour and colourless view
of life contrasted greatly with Mussolini’s larger than life approach to his
leadership. Both leaders left their countries with a economic and social debt to
the Allies which is still strong in the minds of many older members of the
