Congress(house of reps and senate) is responsible for making the laws or passing legislation. the senate currently has 100 senators- two for each state. there are also 435 reps in the house of reps and the number of reps from each state is based on the states population. the composition of congress changes every 2 years with the mid term elections, which cover all of the house of reps and one third of senate

How might we use criminological theory in our roles in law enforcement, the courts, or corrections?
ipn [44]

Answer: Well, Im not in law school or college but Criminology is just like Psycology. Take a first-time killer for example, which after each murder (strangulation for example) puts the Lucifer pentagram on the body of each victim. The way the person was killed is the MMO. Motives, Means, and Opportunity. the way they killed the person, that will be their 'signature'. If a new victim comes up with the same signature and mmo, that will rank the murderer a serial killer. many people kill because they dislike the person, or are mentally ill. in the line of duty like fbi and homicide detective, they always try to understand exactly why the person did this. was it revenge? robbery gone wrong? copycat serial killer? (copycating is where you take a serial killer from the past and recreate their signature and mmo. if that serial killer isnt already dead or in prison, it might be thought that person has come back). all of this comes down to one word:

profiling

since criminology is just the basic study of criminals and people and to why they do things, it will always be used in law enforcement and first responders.

i hope this helped!

Which theory reflects the idea that it is the type of place that makes a difference in crime, more than the kinds of people that
azamat

"Theory of deviant places" reflects the idea that it is the type of place that makes a difference in crime, more than the kinds of people that live in a certain place.

Answer: Option D

Explanation:

When introduced to risky areas, an individual is more prone to be the victim of a crime. The more often an individual steps into rough neighborhoods where violent crime is normal, the higher the risk of victimization, this whole phenomenon is stated as the deviant place theory.

As per the Merton concept, there may be five forms of deviance focused upon these parameters: creativity, conformity, ritualism, rebellion and retreatism. There are three wide sociological categories, which characterize deviant behavior notably: symbolic interaction, structural functionalism and theory of conflict.
