David was a 10th grader and according to the story he was a good boy. He played in the varsity baseball team. Because he was good, his coach put him as a player in the advanced squad. He was the youngest member.

Sammy the catcher had am injury so the coach has approached David to be his replacement as the catcher in the game against the Barons.

Even though david agreed to this, he did not really want to be the catcher that Friday. He had agreed because his parents taught him to respect his elders. He felt it was not going to be easy for him and the entire team could suffer because of him.
