Paris claimed to be the intellectual center of Gothic Europe. Its university faculty and the reputations of its masons supported
Salsk061 [2.6K]

Answer:

B) It was a center for fine book production. More specifically manuscripts, because the books were made by hand, with high quality calligraphy, and were decorated with drawings and paintings.

From the high to late Middle Ages, Paris became home to many workshops that began to produce manuscripts for the University, and for the Royal Court. A particular manuscript style emerged, which came to be known as the "Paris Style".

One famous manuscript from the era is "Très Riches Heures du Duc de Berry", illustrated by Jean Fouquet during one of his stays in Paris (he was from Tours).

Explain how electrical energy can be transformed into heat, light, and sound
Studentka2010 [4]

Answer:

Power lines are everywhere. They carry electricity from power stations to our homes. Electrical energy comes from the movement of charged particles, such as electrons. This kind of energy is also referred to as electricity.

Electrical energy is very important because machines can change electricity into many other forms of energy. We use electrical energy to light and heat our homes, run our dishwashers and washing machines, cook our food, play our music, and more. Electrical energy can be converted into heat, light, sound, or mechanical energy. Electricity travels through conducting materials, such as wires and changes the electrical energy into other kinds of energy. For example:

· light energy when electrical energy causes the metal wire in a lightbulb to glow

· sound energy when electrical energy causes speakers in a radio to vibrate

sound

The part of the speaker that converts electrical into mechanical energy is frequently called the motor, or voice coil. The motor vibrates a diaphragm that in turn vibrates the air in immediate contact with it, producing a sound wave corresponding to the pattern of the original speech or music signal.

heat

A toaster draws electric current (electrical energy) from a wall outlet and converts these moving electric charges into heat (thermal energy) in the filaments that turn red hot to cook your toast. ... As electricity runs through the filaments in a space heater, the electrical energy is converted into heat (thermal energy).

light

Electrical energy conversion to light and heat. ... In the case of an electric bulb, the electrical energy is converted to light and heat. The amount of electrical energy put into a bulb = the amount of light energy (desirable form) plus the heat energy that comes out of the bulb (undesirable form).
