If all life is genetically related, as must be true if evolutionary theory is true, then species that are closer to humans on the evolutionary tree based on physical characteristics should also share a higher percentage of DNA compared with species that are less similar. Sure enough, we now know that humans share approximately 99.5% of genes with other humans, 98% of genes with chimpanzees, 93% with monkeys, 92% with mice, 90% with cats, 84% with dogs, 80% with cows, 60% with chickens, 44% with fruit flies, 26% with yeast, 18% with plants, and 7% with bacteria.

The color distribution for a specific population of lizards is 170 blue, 50 turquoise, and 30 green. a. The allele for the color
Colt1911 [192]

Answer:

Frequency of BBBB genotype = 0.68

Frequency of BBBG genotype = 0.2

Frequency of BGBG genotype = 0.12

Explanation:

Genotype frequency = number of individuals of that genotype/ total number of individuals

In this population three types of individuals are present: blue, turquoise and green.

Frequency of BBBB genotype (blue) = 170/ ( 170 + 50 + 30)

= 170/250

= 0.68

Frequency of BBBG genotype (turquoise) = 50/250

= 0.2

Frequency of BGBG genotype (green) = 30/250

= 0.12

the diagram shows the movement of water through a plant which two terms or phrases describe the process shown
azamat

Answer:

B. Open Stomata

C. Transpiration

Explanation:

Even though plants take up a lot of water from their roots, they lose about 95% of it to the atmosphere in the process known as Transpiration.

Transpiration is done for several reasons: it cools the plant down, it enables plants to access the nutrients in the water as the water moves along the plant and it enables gaseous exchange.

The gaseous exchange happens because carbon dioxide comes in from the same holes on the leaf that the water leaves through to the atmosphere, the open stomata.
