Answer:

Michalko's weighted-average cost of capital is 9.65 %.

Explanation:

Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC) is the return that is required by providers of Long term sources of finance.

WACC = Ke x (E/V) + Kp x (P/V) + Kd x (D/V)

Therefore,

Ke = Cost of Equity

     = Return on Risk free Security + Beta x (Return on Market Portfolio -       Return on Risk free Security)

     = 4.2% + 1.25 × 6.2%

     = 11.95 %

E/V = Market Weight of Equity

      = $25,700/ ($25,700 + $19,100)

      = 0.57

Kd = Cost of Debt

  = Market Interest x ( 1 - tax rate)

  = 11% × (1 - 0.40)

  = 6.60 %

D/V = Market Weight of Debt

      = $19,100/($25,700 + $19,100)

      = 0.43

Thus,

WACC = Ke x (E/V)  + Kd x (D/V)

           = 11.95 % × 0.57 + 6.60 % × 0.43

           = 9.65 %

The infant industry argument says that Question 7 options: tariffs should be imposed to allow a new industry in a country to get
Nesterboy [21]

Answer:

The infant industry argument says that Question 7 options:

tariffs should be imposed to allow a new industry in a country to get established.

Explanation:

The argument for the infant industry protectionism suggests that the imposition of tariffs on imports gives a new industry in the country the required breathing space it requires to develop, grow, and be established before it can face competitive forces from outside, which imports imply.  Since newly formed industries often do not command the economies of scale and learning experience that their competitors from other countries may have, therefore, they need to be singularly shaded from external competition until they have achieved similar economies of scale and learning curve.  But, can they attain any competitive edge without learning from competitors?

Suppose that when good J is free, buyers will demand 100 units of it, but the quantity demanded falls by 5 units for every $2 in
Bond [772]

Answer:

$16

Explanation:

At $0, demand is 100units.

but for every $2 increase, there is a 5 unit decrease.

When the demand is fixed at 60 units, let price of good J be x

Firstly, we calculate the difference between 100 units and 60 units

we have, 100 - 60 = 40 units

For every $2, increase, demand is minus 5.

thus we calculate how many 5 units there are in 40 units.

we have 40 units ÷ 5 units = 8

SInce every +$2 causes -5 units, we have the price of good J at 60 units fixed demand to be  8 x $2 = $16.

It means at $16, the demand of good J is 60 units.

Alternatively, you could do this,

At $0, demand is 100 units

At $2 (0 + 2), demand is 95 units (100-5)

At $4 (2+2), demand is 90 units (95-5)

At $6 (4 + 2), demand is 85 units (90-5)

At $8 (6 +2), demand is 80 units (85-5)

At $10 (8 + 2), demand is 75 units (80-5)

At $12 (10 + 2), demand is 70 units (75-5)

At $14 (12 + 2), demand is 65 units (70-5)

At $16 (14+ 2), demand is 60 units (65-5)

Cheers.

Using the plantwide overhead rate, what percentage of the total overhead cost is allocated to product y and product z
Alexus [3.1K]

The plantwide overhead rate charges an equal share of the total overhead to each product created in that plant. If products y and z were the ONLY two products produced in this plant, they both would be charged 50% of the total overhead.
