The Southern Colonies within British America consisted of the Province of Maryland, the Colony of Virginia, the Province of Carolina (in 1712 split into North and South Carolina) and the Province of Georgia.

Colorism-skin tone discrimination in America is basically discrimination based on someones skin color. It's a form of prejudice in which people are treated differently based on the social meanings and connotations attached to their skin color. However, It's not really a synonyms for racism, even though it seems like it.
