Answer:

ʜᴇʏᴀᴀ!! ɪ'ᴍ ᴘɪɴᴋʏ ᴀɴᴅ ɪ'ᴍ ʜᴇʀᴇ ᴛᴏ ɪɴꜰᴏʀᴍ ʏᴏᴜ ᴛʜᴀᴛ ʏᴏᴜ'ʀᴇ ᴀɴꜱᴡᴇʀ ɪꜱ...♡

Explanation:

Rob explained what he liked on his sandwiches to the chef. This is the sentence that uses a noun clause as a direct object. See the underlined structure and the explanation below:

explain(ed) is the main verb and it is transitive; it needs a direct object .

what he liked on his sandwiches is the noun clause. It can be replaced by a noun phrase: this fact - Rob explained this fact to the chef.- ; and what he liked on his sandwiches is a clause because it has a subject and a predicate: he (subject) + liked on his sandwiches ( what -placed at the beginning) (predicate).

Read the excerpt from ""the lottery."" what information from the excerpt is ironic?
iragen [17]

Answer:

The children arrived first for the lottery.

Explanation:

An irony is a literary device and figure of speech in which words give a direct opposite meaning from the intended meaning.

From the excerpt, we see that the main theme was referring to "school". Therefore, children couldn't be first for the lottery, which is ironic.

Read the excerpt from Part 1 of The Odyssey by Homer.
Ludmilka [50]

This excerpt proves that Odysseus’s men caused their own problems:

 • By showing their physical weaknesses

What is the problem here?

In this passage, we are told about how Odysseus' men kept on feasting and drinking while the fugitives took valiant steps to escape from their hold. Their weakness, in this case, is their love for food and entertainment which the fugitives took advantage of.

This is quite normal in war situations. The enemy takes advantage of the weakness of the opposing side. So, the men in the camp of Odysseus feasted and drank a lot of wine which made them lose their vigilance. Thus, their camp was overtaken.

In what ways do past years stay with a person through time? [Interpret]
geniusboy [140]

Answer:

Past years stay with a person through time because even when the person clocks a new age, the attitude and behaviors of younger ages might not be given up immediately.

Explanation:

The book "Eleven" by Sandra Cisneros tells the story of Rachel who just clocked eleven. On that day in class, she was accused by the teacher of owning an ugly red sweater. She denied that the sweater belonged to her. But a fellow student named Sylvia Saldivar attested to the claim that the sweater belonged to Rachel. Her emotions gave her away for she started crying in the class when she was forced to wear the sweater by the teacher.

So, even though she just clocked eleven, her past years of 3, 5, or 7 still stayed with her for she could not hold in her feelings like a mature girl but wept like a baby.
