The creature is technically an innocent being due to his ignorance. This makes him a childlike character. Victor being the creator and only human he connected with at first, is supposed to be responsible for the monster, similar to a father being there for his son. Instead, Victor abandons his creation and creates a toxic parental relationship between him and the monster. This relationship directly contrasts with the relationship Victor had with his parents.
