The protagonist of the story is Henry Jekyll. The main conflict in the story is with Jekyll and Mr. Hyde when Jekyll is telling him that he wants to keep his dark half and Utterson is trying to discover what is happening with that relationship between those two.

The main theme of the story is the duality of humans and human nature, people can be sometimes difficult or considered contradictory. The second important thing is the reputation that person can have because that can affect a person's life.
