Which of the following illustrates intraspecific competition? A sea gull swooping down to snatch a fish from the water's surface
choli [55]

Answer: Male red-winkled black birds defending limited nesting sites from other males.

Explanation: Intraspecific competition is defined as a competition between two individuals from the same species. There are two types of intraspecific competition which are interference intraspecific competition and exploitation intraspecific competition. For the purpose of the answer provided above, interference intraspecific competition is discussed.

In interference intraspecific competition, the species establish hierarchies through aggressive behavior in which one or more individuals within the population holds a dominant status over the others. These individuals limit or prevent access of more subordinate individuals to a resources through direct interactions.

Here, only those individuals who are dominant or holds territories will increase their production success. Example of this is in when two winkled black birds establishes a territory of nesting sites, thus limits the access of this nesting sites thereby defending the nesting sites from other males.

68 paramecia are found in an area measuring 2 cm x 3 cm. _____ paramecia/cm2 *
Vladimir79 [104]
So the area is 2x3 cm with 68 paramecia.

Not sure if this is the best way to do it, but I’d do 68/2*3 (68 divided by (2 times 3))

So first 2*3 is 6cm.

Now you’re trying to find paramecia/cm2. You are trying to find a unit rate. That is a value over one.

Then because there are 68p and 6cm, to find the unit rate, you’d do 68/6.

Now you have your unit rate, which is 11.3 repeating, or 11 1/3 as a fraction.

That would be 11.3 (11 1/3) paramecia per cm2

also I’m not 100% sure if this is correct, just wanted to help, so no guarantees

in a pea plant round seeds are dominant over wrinkled. A plant is homozygous dominant for round seeds is crossed with a heterozy
Harrizon [31]

Answer:

100% probability, 100 out of 100

Explanation:

Homozygous dominant means that the plant has two alleles of the same dominant trait, in this case, round. Heterozygous plant means it has two different alleles, one round and one wrinkled. If you put them in a punnett square, you get two heterozygous and two homozygous dominant. All of them will get you a round pea plant since they all have the dominant trait in them. I can show you the punnett square I made.
