Grasslands are expanses of land filled with short plants such as wild flowers and grasses, due to low rainfall it cannot support long trees and forests but it is sufficient to prevent it from turning into a desert. They are located between forests and grasslands and are found in central North America in US and it Uruguay and Argentina, in southern parts of Russia and Mongolia. Grassland<em><u> biomes are important for human farming and food production for growing crops like wheat and corn and for grazing livestock</u></em>. They are classified into three types Prairie, Steppes and Pampas.
Bartolomeu Dias was the first European to round the southern tip of Africa. He named it Cape of Storms, but King John later renamed it Cape of Good Hope.
