A croissant shop has plain croissants, cherry croissants, chocolate croissants, almond croissants, apple croissants, and broccol
slamgirl [31]

Answer:

A. 6 188

B. 749 398

C. 6 188

D. 52 975

E. 20 349

F. 11 316

Explanation:

(a) The shop has 6 types of croissants of which a dozen(12) has to be selected

Therefore n=6, r=12

Repetition of croissants is permitted

And C(n+r-1, r)

C(6+12-1, 12) = C(17, 12) = 17!÷ 12!(17-12)! = 17!÷12! 5! =6 188

(b) The shop has 6 types of croissants of which three dozen(36) has to be selected

Therefore n=6, r=36

Repetition of croissants is permitted

And C(n+r-1, r)

C(6+36-1, 12) = C(41, 36) = 41!÷ 36!(41-36)! = 41!÷36! 5! = 749 398

(c) The shop has 6 types of croissants of which two dozen(24) has to be selected

Let us first select 2 of each kind which 12 croissants in total. Then we still need to select the remaining 12 croissants

Therefore n=6, r=12

Repetition of croissants is permitted

And C(n+r-1, r)

C(6+12-1, 12) = C(17, 12) = 17!÷ 12!(17-12)! = 17!÷12! 5! =6 188

(d) The shop has 5 types of croissants of which two dozen(24) has to be selected

Therefore n=5, r=24

Repetition of croissants is permitted

And C(n+r-1, r)

C(5+24-1, 24) = C(28, 24) = 28!÷ 24!(28-24)! = 28!÷24! 4! = 20 475

Nuetrik [128]

Answer:

Distance LM = 5.20 unit (Approx.)

Step-by-step explanation:

Given coordinates;

L(1, 4, 7) and M(2, 9, 8)

Find:

Distance LM

Computation:

Distance between three-dimensional plane = √(x2 - x1)² + (y2 - y1)² + (z2 - z1)²

Distance LM = √(2 - 1)² + (9 - 4)² + (8 - 7)²

Distance LM = √(1)² + (5)² + (1)²

Distance LM = √1 + 25 + 1

Distance LM = √27

Distance LM = 3√3 unit

Distance LM = 3(1.732)

Distance LM = 5.196

Distance LM = 5.20 unit (Approx.)

Write an equation that has variables on both sides and has a solution of -3
Slav-nsk [51]

Here's an example (which I'll walk you through):

2x + 5 = -1 - x

This has variables on both sides (because there's an x on the left side of the equals sign, and on the right side).

And the solution is also -3. Here's how:

2x + 5 = -1 - x

First, I'll move the x on the right side to the left by adding x to both sides:

2x + 5 + x = -1 - x + x

This cancels out the -x on the right and adds another x to the 2x on the left:

3x + 5 = -1

Now to isolate the 3x, I'll subtract 5 from both sides:

3x + 5 - 5 = -1 - 5

This cancels out the 5 on the left side, and subtracts 5 from the -1 on the right:

3x = -6

Now I'll divide both sides by 3 to get x on its own and find my solution:

3x ÷ 3 = -6 ÷ 3

This cancels out the 3 multiplying the x on the left, and it divides the -6 by 3.

x = -2

And there's your solution :)

Will choose brainliest!
stepladder [879]

Lets set up some variables:

  • 1st envelope: e_{1}
  • 2nd envelope: e_{2}
  • 3rd envelope: e_{3}

Now let us set up some equations based of the facts:

  • e_{1} +2=\frac{e_{2} }{2} -- > e_{2}  = 2e_{1} +4
  • 2e_{3} =e_{1} +e_{2}
  • e_{2} > e_{3} > e_{1}

Now we could try some numbers out since there isn't really any other way I could solve this so far...

 but we do know that the sum of e_{1} and e_{2} must be even since they equal 2e_{3}

After you tried it out for a little bit, when e_{1} = 2, then e_{2} = 8, and e_{3} = 5. These three values meet the criteria and we have our answer.

Hope that helped!
