How did the liberties of black after 1877 give way to legal segregation across the south? course herp?
Anna11 [10]
Thanks to the Compromise of 1877, the era of Reconstruction in the South ended. Reconstruction was the period after the Civil War in which the federal government took an enormous role in helping former slaves to adjust to life as US citizens. However, thanks to the Compromise of 1877, the federal government stopped these efforts in the southern states, allowing for legal segregation to take place.

After 1877, Southern states instituted different places for black and white citizens. This included restaurants, movie theaters, parks, and schools. This legal segregation would be further supported by the Supreme Court in their ruling of Plessy vs. Ferguson.

What examples can you think of that support the idea that a bill of rights is a good idea?
natta225 [31]
Well, the Bill of Rights has emphasized urgent morals and philosophies, and protects the United States citizens’ freedom.
For example; the first amendment, also known as the Freedom of Speech (Press, Protest, etc,), allows citizens to vocalize their opinions.
While regarding this topic, there are rights also known as unalienable rights- rights that cannot be taken from you. Example of this would be:
• Life
• Liberty
• Pursuit of Happiness

Each citizen of the United States of America have these rights listed in the Constitution.

I hope this helps!
