Answer:

≈ 10.63

Step-by-step explanation:

Pythagorean Theorem... Possibly the most easy theory in math once you understood it.

Here's the formula.

A^2+B^2=C^2

AB would be the hypothenuse

BC would be the opposite

CA would be the Adjacent.

But let's not make it complicated though, the question is actually quite easy.

You are asked to find AB, the hypothenuse.

The hypothenuse would be C.

BC and CA would be A and B.

It doesn't matter where are you going to place the numbers.

So, 7^2 + 8^2

7^2 + 8^2 = 49 + 64\\

= 113

Now we would have to square root 113 since A^2+B^2=C^2

\sqrt{113} is an irrational number, and the question asks you to round ro the nearest tenth.

\sqrt{113} =10.63014581

≈ 10.63

Your answer would be 10.63

When x2+3x-4 is subtracted from x (x2+3x-2) what is the difference
tankabanditka [31]
I'm assuming this is x^2 + 3x - 4 and x(x^2 + 3x - 2)

1.) First distribute x(x^2 + 3x - 2) to get x^3 + 3x^2 - 2x.

2.) Because you are subtracting all the terms from x^3 + 3x^2 - 2x, it's the same thing as distributing -1 to x^2 + 3x - 4 and then adding it to x^3 + 3x^2 - 2x.

3.) -1(x^2 + 3x - 4) = -x^2 - 3x + 4

4.) Add (x^3 + 3x^2 - 2x) + (-x^2 - 3x + 4)

5.) x^3 + 2x^2 - 5x + 4 is your final answer.

BC is parallel to DE<br> What is AC?
DaniilM [7]
ΔABC ~ ΔADE
AC/AE = AB/AD
AC/(AC+15) = 8/18
18AC = 8(AC+15)
18AC = 8AC + 120
18AC - 8AC = 120
10AC = 120
AC = 120/10
AC = 12

Round 398.223 to the nearest ten
Rufina [12.5K]

Answer:

400

Step-by-step explanation:

Method for rounding:

Look at the number 1 place before the place you are rounding to.

If it is greater than 4: round up

otherwise: round down.

Ok,

here the number we're looking at is 8 cuz' 8 is in the ones place.

8 is bigger than 4 so we round up.

398.223 becomes 400
