Answer:

Dear sir or madam,

I am a resident in this building, and I have noticed the poor services that the building is getting.  Residents of the building are having problems due to the bad conditions.

There is a lack of services that make the building dangerous and dirty. The lights in the majority of the hallways do not work, as a consequence people, fell or have difficulties finding their keys, door, or recognizing other neighbors or guests. Another clear evidence of the lack of maintenance is the staircase conditions. They are dirty, and the staircase on the second and fourth floor has its rail broken. People continuously trip and fell from the stairs due to the rubbish that is on them. Besides, someone might fall from the second or fourth floor if you do not fix the rail.

I have been filing complaints for the past few months, but I have not received an answer or see any improvements in the building. I would like for the maintenance service to improve their services. They should take action in the building's problems so that the building becomes a safe place.

Yours faithfully,

Carol Johnson

Explanation:

A complaining letter has three parts:

  • Introduction: we introduce the letter's topic. In other words, we say that we are not satisfied with the maintenance service and we want it to change.
  • Body: in this paragraph or paragraphs, we describe the building's problems. We are giving the reasons why we are not happy with the maintenance.
  • Closing paragraph: in this section, we have to ask for improvements, restate that we are not happy with the service, and politely finish the letter.
